The International Association for the Agricultural Jihad (IANA) has reported that a new complex, Goharbar Farm & Nursery, has been built with the purpose of producing certified saplings using both traditional methods and tissue culture techniques. According to the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, Goharbar Farm & Nursery has the capacity to produce 500,000 saplings on an annual basis. The complex was funded with a combination of public and private funds. The operation of this complex has provided employment for 15 people on a permanent basis, as well as an additional 10 people who are employed seasonally.
The complex is able to produce a variety of different types of fruit, including 32 new varieties that are created from different types of seeds and kernels. In addition, the complex is able to produce 23 fruit tree varieties, both the Stone Fruit Trees and Pome Fruit Trees. The production of these products is in compliance with patent rights in the United States, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. The complex has also obtained an exclusive license for reproduction and certified seedling production of these cultivars from 5 major seedling-producing companies in the aforementioned countries. This is a unique characteristic of this production unit, as it is able to produce and distribute these certified seedlings to other organizations and individuals.
